My Music Profiles
So, I guess I should take some time and explain to everyone why I have both my Apple Music and Spotify Music profiles on my website. They are definitely more than just show.
First, I guess I should explain that back in the day (I can’t believe that I just said that), I used to DJ for WERG, specifically with Lee Smith, which started at 10 am and went to 2 pm, which led to me actually DJ’ing a party at this little spot on State St. Before that, what I used to do was make mix CDs for the people in my neighborhood, and I often had songs and albums way before people released them. (Shoutout to Limewire!). I have always been a fan of music, and have started curating playlists out of ideas that I have had.
So I created profiles on multiple Music Sites (Apple Music, Spotify, Soundcloud) in order to put together playlists and order music in a way that will help me with my DJ’ing (Yeah, I’m doing that too. I even have turntables.)
I have a few different types of playlists, depending on my ideas. I have a very specific series called the Vs series, where I pit two artists against each other, not to actually proclaim a winner, but just to pit two artists together in a synergistic playlist that has an actual flow to it. I also do compilations such as bands from the 90s, and artists from a specific area. There are many more, and I add/update playlists as often as I can.
